Guillain-Barré Syndrome Quiz
Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) represents a unique challenge to Critical Care nurses. Many perhaps will have looked after long-term patients with GBS in their Intensive Care Units and will already have some insight into these patients' special needs. Most will be aware at least that GBS is considered to be the result of an immunologically mediated attack on nerves, most will be aware of the current treatment of the syndrome with Immunoglobulin and/or Plasma Exchange.
This 10 question quiz aims to reinforce some of this knowledge and hopefully extend it further so that Critical Care nurses can care for these special patients with a solid body of knowledge behind them and be assured that their nursing practice is based on current literature and current practice. It has been researched, compiled and placed on the web by Andrew Strong CNS.
